Birth & Post Partum Doula.
I’m a mum of three living in West Cork with my husband, children and a large number of animals! I’ve been a doula since 2014, after taking the DONA International birth doula training. In 2016, I completed the DONA International Post Partum training. As a doula, I believe each mother should feel cared for, supported and empowered during pregnancy, birth and in those precious first weeks and months of parenting.
I was drawn to doula work following a period of time where I co facilitated a breastfeeding support group. I found mums searching for that extra support during their pregnancies and in those first weeks after their baby was born, but not just for breastfeeding support. I was lucky to have had a great deal of support from family when each of my children were born but not everyone has that.
It is a joy to see families become confident and excited about their births and an honour to be a part of such a special time in their lives. I truly believe in women’s instincts and the ability of families to make decisions when they are supported and feel safe.
I strive to deliver open communications, honesty, calmness and nurturing skills to families.
I love walking, photography and spending time with my children when they are out of school. I’m an active member and volunteer with ‘West Cork Families Supporting Autism’. I’m also a member of Ciudiu and the Doula Association of Ireland.
